Novia Metalised BOPP Tape
Our high specification metallised jointing tape, available in cold weather and standard weather options.
Product Overview
Novia® Metallised BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene) Tape is a high specification jointing tape available in cold weather and standard weather options. It is suitable for a wide range of applications where Novia membranes require sealing against air and water vapour ingress. Novia® Metallised BOPP Tape is a high tack, highly tear resistant, low emissivity and low moisture vapour permeability lap sealing tape for use in Air & Vapour Control Layer’s (AVCL), Damp Proof Membranes (DPM) and Gas Barrier applications.
Novia® Metallised BOPP Tape has a high specification acrylic dispersion adhesive which gives excellent product performance. The use of a high quality metallised polypropylene also significantly improves the overall strength of the jointing tape, in comparison to traditional low tear strength aluminium foil tape. Novia® Metallised BOPP Tape should be used in AVCL, DPM and Gas Barrier applications as an edge and lap sealing tape. It should be used in conjunction with the Novia® Double Sided Butyl jointing and sealing tape. For the best results for airtightness and prevention of interstitial condensation, Novia advises the use of both lap and butyl tapes on all AVCL installations.
Novia® Metallised BOPP Tape can be found on NBS Chorus and NBS Source software packages. They are available for specifying as additional products, and fall within a variety of relevant clauses.
